Tramadol is used in the management of moderate to moderately severe pain.
With normal use, Tramadol is generally well tolerated, and side effects are usually transient, some of these reported side effects include nausea, constipation, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, and vomiting. Less commonly reported side effects include itching, sweating, dry mouth, visual disturbances, and vertigo.
Tramadol is in a class of medications called opiate agonists. The potential for abuse and dependence with Tramadol is low. Considering it is a non-narcotic medicine, there should not by any considerable danger if you take it over a long period of time, however the body may become tolerant to this drug, which means that it may not work as well as it was at the beginning or it may stop working completely.
However, there have been reports of dependence and withdrawal after long-term use, abrupt withdrawal of Tramadol may result in anxiety, sweating, insomnia, tremors, and hallucinations. With this in mind, 121Rehab will always recommend a medically managed detox programme.
